Headshot_Loflin_02Hal came to Smyrna Golf Course in 1991 as an assistant PGA golf professional. He went to work for the PGA of America in 1995 as the Member Services Director for Tennessee and returned to SGC in 1998 as the Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf. Prior to coming to SGC he was an assistant golf professional at Jackson Country Club in Jackson, Tennessee.
Hal obtained his PGA membership in 1993. After an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force he attended Roane State Community College on a golf scholarship and obtained an Associates of Science degree in business management as well as an Associates of Science degree in Engineering Technology (Quality Assurance).
Hal has been awarded several Tennessee PGA section and middle Tennessee chapter awards in education and club relations. He also served on the TNPGA Board of Directors for six years. He is currently the chairman of the TNPGA Education Committee, having served in this role for twelve years, and is also the chairman of the Tennessee Golf Association Handicap Committee.
Hal is married to Barbie, thirty one years, and has two sons, Aaron and Matt, and one daughter, Katie who is a junior at Middle Tennessee State University. He and Barbie also have two grandchildren, Beau and Parker.
