  • Brush Truck Crew Working Overtime

    One of our brush trucks is out of service. Our crew/other truck is working diligently to pick up all the brush around town. Our employees will work overtime and this weekend to catch up on the brush and recent tree limbs down due to the storm.

  • Friends of Smyrna Library Donates More Than 100 Books to the Smyrna Police Department

    On Tuesday March 21st, The Friends of Smyrna Library donated over 100 children’s books to the Smyrna Police Department for Police Officers to carry in their vehicles. These books will be used in those instances where a child has been involved in a traumatic event.

    Free CPR / AED Class

    The Town of Smyrna is offering a FREE CPR and AED Class at the 3rd Annual Family Safety Expo on Saturday, April 1st. The class time will be from 9:00am to 3:00pm. The class is limited to the first 75 registrations received.

    Public Meeting: Lowry Street Revitalization Project

    The public is welcome to come to Assembly Hall (110 Front Street, Smyrna) on Tuesday, April 4, from 5pm - 7pm to see the proposed improvements to Lowry Street. This is for the area from Sam Davis Road to Jackson Street that is covered by the grant. There will not be a formal presentation, but people are welcome to drop in, see the plans, ask questions and make comments.

    ROAD WORK: Lane Closure on Florence Road

    From March 20th thru March 24th, one lane will be closed at a time for milling of Florence Rd from Ed’s Bait and Tackle to Rebel Road. There will be one lane open at all times. Workers will be present to help minimize the impact on traffic flow.

    Smyrna Natural Gas will soon be conducting its annual telephone survey to assess the awareness and understanding of those who live along our gas pipeline concerning safety and the safe use of gas. We will place these calls between March 21st and March 24th, 2017.
