Town Council Workshop

The Town Council Workshop is usually scheduled for the last Tuesday or Thursday of each month. This meeting takes place at Smyrna City Hall, 315 South Lowry Street in Smyrna.

  1. Consideration of a resolution relative to a Plan of Services for property located on Tax Map 51, Parcel 33.01.
  2. Consideration of an ordinance relative to the annexation of property located on Tax Map 51, Parcel 33.01, containing approximately 59.4 acres, (requested by John Lewis).  Zoning would be PRD.  Property is located west of Cooks Lane. Second Reading.
  3. Consideration of a resolution in memorandum of Ordinance #17- 50 relative to the annexation and PRD zoning for property located on Tax Map 51, Parcel 33.01.
  4. Consideration of an ordinance relative to the rezoning of property located on Tax Map 51, Parcel 1.02, containing approximately 35.08 acres, (requested by John Lewis), from R-1 to PRD.  Property is located on Cooks lane.  Second Reading.
  5. Consideration of a resolution relative to a Plan of Services for property located on Tax Map 51, part of Parcel 9.00 and Parcel 9.01.
  6.   7. Consideration of a resolution in memorandum of Ordinance #17- 52 relative to the annexation and PRD zoning for property located on Tax Map 51, part of Parcel 9.00 and Parcel 9.01.
  8. Consideration of an ordinance relative to the rezoning of properties located on Tax Map 51, part of Parcel 9.00 and Parcel 28.00, containing approximately 180.7 acres, (requested by RHB, LLC), to amend the existing approved PRD.  Properties are located on Rocky Fork Road.  Second Reading.
  9. Consideration of a resolution relative to a Plan of Services for property located on Tax Map 54, Parcels 50.00 and 50.01..
  10. Consideration of an ordinance relative to the annexation of properties located on Tax Map 54, Parcels 50.00 and 50.01, containing approximately 13.1 acres, (requested by Shawn Collins).  Zoning would be R-3.  Properties are located east of Rocky Fork Almaville Road and adjacent to Morton Lane.  Second Reading.
  11. Consideration of a resolution in memorandum of Ordinance #17- 54 relative to the annexation and R-3 zoning for properties located on Tax Map 54, Parcels 50.00 and 50.01.
  12. Consideration of an ordinance relative to the rezoning of properties located on Tax Map 54, Parcels 47.00 and 62.00, containing approximately 109.5 acres, (requested by Shawn Collins), from R-3 to PRD.  Properties are located at 8319 and 8575 Rocky Fork Almaville Road.  Second Reading.
  13. Consideration of an ordinance relative to the rezoning of property located on Tax Map 27, Parcel 6.02, containing approximately 21.7 acres, (requested by Brian Thure on behalf of Taylor Farms), from C-2 to PUD.  Property is located at 442 Nissan Drive.  Second Reading.
  14. Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, a contract with Volkert relative to update of the Comprehensive Plan.
  15. Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, a contract with Kline Sweeney Associates relative to Downtown Master Plan.
  16. Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, a contract with LifePoint Church relative to Smyrna Parks and Recreation practice field area.
  17. Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, a contract with Tennessee Rehab Center relative to Smyrna Parks and Recreation use of field area.
  18. Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, a contract with Sciencenter relative to the “Turtle Travels” exhibit in the Smyrna Outdoor Adventure Center.
  19. Consideration of a resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign and forward the resolution to the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation relative to I-24 Smart Corridor Project.
  20. Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, a contract with Gresham Smith and Partners relative to additional services for ITS Phases I and II.
  21. Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, documents with the excess carriers relative to the Town’s self-insured program.
  22. Approval of the terms of, and authorization for the Mayor to execute, a renewal contract with CIGNA for third party administrator, provider network, and reinsurance (stop loss) for the Town’s health insurance plan.
  23. Consideration of an ordinance amending Municipal Code Title 3 “Municipal Court”, Chapter 1 “Town Court Administration”, Section 3-101 “Establishment of Full-Time Town Court”, Section 3-102 “Maintenance of Dockets”, Section 3-108 “Imposition of Fines, Penalties and Costs”, and Section 3-110 “Disposition and Report of Fines, Penalties and Costs”.  First Reading.
  24. Consideration of an ordinance amending Municipal Code Title 16 “Streets and Sidewalks, etc.”, Chapter 1 “Miscellaneous”, Section 16-110 “Parades, etc. regulated”.  First Reading.
  25. Appointment of one (1) member to the Board of Zoning Appeals to serve unexpired term ending 2020.
